Clements/Thibodeaux Family History
This book is largely the result of several years of genealogical research into the people, places, and events that have come to define us as a family. It will attempt to provide the names and overall time lines of movements for the various family groups as the generations have progressed to the present day.
At times the journey of discovery was frustrating. At other times, it was met with jubilation when a new name or document was discovered that could shed light on an ancestor. The Catholic church records compiled by Rev. Donald Hebert was an immense help in providing names and dates of church events over the generations. Internet genealogy websites, specific to the Acadians, where extensive research has already been done, were invaluable. Careful attempts were made to reduce errors, but no doubt, some errors have unintentionally crept into these pages, for which the author offers both an apology and regrets.
To mention everyone who contributed to this work is impossible, but heartfelt thanks are offered to each. Your contributions of family information, pictures, personal stories, and experiences helped shape and add color to the pages of the finished product.
It is my hope that the reader enjoys this book of your family history.
It is my wish that the younger family members will use this book as a starting point to continue researching the past while also recording the information of, and for, future generations.
It is my dream that you will one day meet all these family members in the great beyond.
